This new house for a family of four provides a weekend getaway at the Oregon Coast on a spectacular ocean-front property overlooking the beach, a lake, and a refuge for wildlife. The design resolves the challenges of the steeply sloping site by arranging the house in two volumes that step down the hill, preserving trees and providing unobstructed views of the ocean and the Sitka spruce forest from every room. The exterior forms and natural materials sympathize with the setting while the serene interior creates a quiet atmosphere from which to enjoy the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.

Preliminary design was produced by the team at Bora Architecture & Interiors under the leadership of principal architect Stephen Weeks. Final design is currently underway by WM Studio with construction set to begin in summer 2023.
