Columbia Gorge Family Retreat
This ten-bedroom retreat is a transformation of the former schoolhouse that served as the large family’s home until it was destroyed by a tragic fire in the 1980’s. In honor of their legendary parents, the clients for this unique project aim to create a Hood River destination that accommodates family reunions as well as community-focused meal offerings, worship services, and music events. The first of a series of redevelopment phases, the vision for the retreat center is of a modern structure built within the remaining walls of the schoolhouse honoring the legacy of service, faith, and community impact for which the family is known.
Preliminary design produced by the team at Bora Architecture & Interiors under the leadership of principal architect, Stephen Weeks. Continuing work by WM Studio.
